St. Joseph’s Preparatory School – a Catholic Jesuit college preparatory school- is seeking qualified candidates for a Chief Mission Officer.

The Chief Mission Officer functions as a member of the Mission & Ministry Department, has direct responsibility for Ignatian Service and Campus Ministry and is a key member of the President’s Leadership Council. The position’s primary work is to promote and foster the Ignatian Identity and Jesuit Mission of the school through the mentoring and formation of new hires and spiritual direction to the adult community including faculty, administration, staff, parents, alumni and Trustees. This position reports directly to the President and to the Principal, on student- related matters. This is a 12 month position.

Within the context of the mission, the Chief Mission Officer is responsible for developing and facilitating practical group training and retreats for faculty and staff and other adult constituents around issues of Ignatian education and formation.

The ideal candidate will possess a combination of the following: Master’s degree in appropriate field;
Five + years of experience working with laymen and women on issues of Ignatian formation, counseling or related fields;
Significant experience in Ignatian Service;
Familiar with “Go Forth and Teach” and “A Practical Approach – The Ignatian Pedagogical Paradigm;
Experience directing the Spiritual Exercises;
Ability to think creatively about adult programming and effectively execute this programming;
Ability to effectively mentor adults;
Ability to foster collaborative relationships with individuals representing other departments;
Proficient oral and written communication skills;
Demonstrated high-level organizational and supervisory skills; Demonstrated the integration of the Ignatian Principals in their own life;
A strong commitment to the philosophy mission and core values of Jesuit education.
