Catholic Campus Ministry at Southern Methodist University Seeking a Campus Minister of Service and Social Justice

The Catholic Campus Ministry at Southern Methodist University, a ministry of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Dallas, seeks a full-time campus minister whose primary responsibilities are to assist in the coordination of its service and social justice ministries.

Catholic Campus Ministry serves a vibrant, growing, community of students, alumni, staff, and faculty of SMU. The qualified applicant will join a team and community passionate about the mission of the Church in higher education and committed to the spiritual and intellectual formation of young adults.

The campus minister will be expected to direct all service and social justice programs, including the Vickery Meadow After-School Program, Urban Plunge (Alternative Fall Break), Pro-Life Ministry and Saturday Service opportunities. All duties will be performed in consultation with Chaplain/Director of Campus Ministry and in collaboration with the pastoral team, students, and volunteers. Position reports to the Chaplain/Director of Campus Ministry.

Requirements:
The successful candidate will possess an advanced degree in divinity, theology, pastoral ministry, education, or a related field; have a previous experience in a ministry setting, especially in service, social justice; be committed to the Catholic mission in higher education; be enthusiastic about working with college students in an academic setting; be an effective self-starter with a high level of integrity. He/She must possess pastoral, organizational (technical/computer) and communication skills and have the ability to work collaboratively. Schedule includes weekends and evenings. Salary is commensurate with experience.
