The Office of Hispanic Ministry, Diocese of Camden, is seeking a full-time executive secretary. Qualified person must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Spanish, be organized and self-motivated, and enjoy working with the Hispanic community. Knowledge of Microsoft Office is necessary, while experience maintaining a Website a plus.


• Receive and process phone calls from individuals and organizations requesting networking with Hispanic parishes
• Distribute and respond in a timely fashion to correspondence received
• Send information regarding parish sponsored and diocesan events to Hispanic Leaders, parishes, other diocesan offices
• Design and send materials to promote Hispanic Ministry events
• Prepare agendas and minutes for Hispanic Ministry Commission Meetings, Special Event Meetings and others as requested
• Submit material to be posted and updated on website
• Translate materials into English and/or Spanish
• Prepare newsletters to be sent to all parishes in Camden Diocese, Priests, Deacons, Hispanic Leaders, Diocesan Employees via email, fax

• Maintain financial records for Diocesan Hispanic Ministry Activities
• Submit Receipt and Expenditure Transmittals to accounting Department

• Update contact information of parish ministers and volunteers
• Keep financial records, special events and educational information, etc. in an organized filing system
• Maintain all records of Hispanic Ministry office and Evangelization

• Take inventory of and replenish office supplies as necessary
• Assist Delegate in whatever way possible to ensure an efficiently run office and vibrant, effective ministry

• High School Diploma; Associates degree – Bachelor’s degree preferred;
• Three (3) to five (5) years of experience as Administrative Assistant and/or Secretary preferred.

The employee also possesses:

• Strong interpersonal skills;
• The ability to interact with diverse constituencies;
• Expert knowledge of technology and information systems; hands-on experience with Microsoft Office products and Parish Soft is also required;
• Responsibility of maintaining confidentiality;
• Understanding of the importance that cultural heritage brings to the development of faith;
• Knowledge about available resources online, in print, in media;
• Strong human resource skills;
• Bilingual and multicultural sensitivity;
