The Office of Campus Ministry supports the members of the Catholic University of America community in their individual and communal growth as they strive to live the message of the Gospel. The ministry is directed toward and seeks to involve all members of the CUA community: students, faculty, administrators and staff. The Office of Campus Ministry is responsible for articulating a vision for this ministry and for acquiring and developing the necessary resources for implementing the vision.

Reporting to the University Chaplain/Director of Campus Ministry, the Associate Campus Minister for Men’s Ministry and Retreats provides pastoral presence to the university community and reaches out to the men on campus and athletes providing programs and support in their practice of faith. To accomplish this task this Campus Minister participates in staff meetings and student staff supervision. In addition, this person supervises the Campus Ministry retreat program.

Essential Responsibilities Include: Serving as a member of the Pastoral Staff; coordinating and supervising all of campus ministry retreats; supervising and supporting ministry to athletes on campus through direct interaction with individual teams; supporting the formation in faith and virtue of men on campus through unique initiatives as well as through special outreach groups; coordinating one mission trip a year; and coordinating of high school confirmation retreat ministry.

Minimum Qualifications: A bachelor’s degree in Divinity/Theology or Pastoral Practice required. No prior work experience required. On-the-job training will be provided. This position requires occasional driving on behalf of university business. Possession of a current and valid U.S. driver’s license appropriate to the type of university vehicle and an acceptable motor vehicle driving record is required.

Preferred Qualifications: A master’s degree in Divinity/Theology or related field preferred. (154)
