The Catholic Diocese of Arlington, one of the fastest growing dioceses in the nation, is searching for an Accounting Assistant to assist the accounting staff with various aspects of the accounting operations and financial reporting.


The Accounting Assistant is responsible for preparing transactions for data entry, entering data into Microsoft Dynamics GP for various accounting-related transactions, running and distributing reports and other items, and preparing schedules, letters, memos and other correspondence. The Accounting Assistant maintains the department’s inventory as well as its file management program and various accounting logs. The Accounting Assistant processes the mail, and is the primary point of contact for telephone and in-person inquiries. High-school diploma or GED required. Must have a minimum of 2 years’ progressive experience in office administration and clerical support in a business office. Prior accounting related experience preferred. Must be proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite, with above average proficiency in Excel. Experience using Microsoft Dynamics GP and/or iMIS a plus. Strong communications and organizational skills a must. Initiative, discretion, good judgment and the ability to multi-task and work independently are especially important.
